A new compassion meditation has been posted to the Mindfulness Center website https://med.virginia.edu/mindfulness-center/continue-your-practice/audio-recordings/ . There is growing evidence of the benefit of dedicated compassion meditation as demonstrated by Professor Singer and others. This recording is based on a meditation used in a study at the University of Wisconsin’s Center for Investigating Healthy Minds which showed that individuals who listened to a compassion meditation over a two week period demonstrated increased altruistic behavior.
