TuskeyAnneAnne Tuskey, MD, is assistant professor of medicine in the UVA Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology. After completing her undergraduate degree at UVA and her MD at Medical College of Virginia, she did a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Tuskey joined the UVA faculty in 2011, and her clinical practice focuses on inflammatory bowel disease. She is medical director of the gastroenterology clinics, as well as the quality liaison for the Division of Gastroenterology. She is co-system leader of the GI medical school curriculum and a member of the committee on residency education.

Learning objectives:
1. Understand the “Treat to Target” management strategy in inflammatory bowel disease, and list the recommended targets for both Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
2. Recognize the need for personalized therapy, through an understanding of disease activity versus disease severity.
