Dear Colleagues: Dr. M. Norman Oliver has accepted the position of Deputy Commissioner for Population Health at the Virginia Department of Health. We will be conducting a national search for a new chair of the Department of Family Medicine.
I am very pleased that Dr. Susan Pollart has agreed to serve as Interim Chair until a permanent chair is identified. The Ruth E. Murdaugh Professor of Family Medicine and the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Faculty Development, Dr. Pollart will assume the position of Interim Chair effective July 10, 2017. She will continue in her role as Senior Associate Dean during this period. This is a great service to the institution and I am very grateful to her for her willingness to manage two demanding responsibilities.
