NIH Requires New Biosketch and Other Support Format by May 25, 2025

February 11, 2025 by jta6n@virginia.edu

NIH logoThe National Institutes of Health (NIH) will adopt the Common Form for Biosketches and Other Support in all applications and Research Performance Progress Reports (RPPRs) effective May 25, 2025.

This change aligns with the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy memorandum on Policy Regarding Use of Common Disclosure Forms. To facilitate adoption of the new forms, faculty and administrators should use SciENcv to prepare and certify all Biosketches and Other Support documents for NIH proposals and awards.

Additionally, all senior/key personnel must have an ORCID ID, which is a free, unique, persistent identifier (PID) for individuals to use as they engage in research, scholarship, and innovation activities.

The School of Medicine Office of Grants and Contracts (SOMOGC) will hold a SciENcv demo on Thursday, February 20 at 12 p.m. during the SOM Research Administrators Meeting (RAM). All faculty and staff are welcome to attend. A Job Aid for navigating SciENcv is also posted to the SOMOGC website to assist faculty with establishing delegations and creating new forms in SciENcv.

Zoom Details for the SOM RAM on February 20, 12 p.m.
