Five Breakthroughs by UVA Researchers Lead the Way in Our Fight Against Cancer

Research by School of Medicine researchers coordinated through UVA Cancer Center is making major headway in our battle against cancer. In an article titled “5 Ways the University of Virginia Takes The Fight To Cancer” in UVA Today, five recent major breakthroughs have been rounded up in case you missed it. The stories cover advances in shrinking deadly tumors, new focused ultrasound and CAR-T cell therapy options, a study about the relationship of the gut to cancer, discovery of a gene responsible for childhood cancer, and using algorithms to improve treatment.
