Two food trucks will be located on site (date and location TBD). Updated information is listed below.

  • Blasting | Begins Tuesday, May 28 | Rock removal is required to build both the Institute of Biotechnology and Fontaine Parking Garage. Blasting is the least impactful option for removing the rock. Blasts will occur Monday through Friday, at noon and at 3:30 p.m., and will sound like a series of firecrackers firing in sequence. It will only last a few seconds. Details.
  • Parking | Parking options for team members, patients, and research participants will change every few months during these projects. Be sure to stay apprised of these changes. Remote staff who have parking questions, should read the FAQ.
  • Bus Service | Monday-Friday, 5 a.m.-8 p.m. | The University Transit Service’s Purple Line bus will run from the John Paul Jones Arena Garage to Fontaine research park. Details. After-hours shuttle service is available 8 p.m.-5 a.m., Monday through Friday. Please use the TransLoc app to request an on-demand ride.
  • Health System Transit Shuttle Service | Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.- 6 p.m. | The Health System Transit Fontaine Research Park shuttle operates on a continuous 30-minute route  service from University Hospital to Fontaine Research Park. Details. After-hours pick-up service is available 6-10 p.m., Monday-Friday, by calling 434.982.1600.
  • Golf Carts | 7:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. | Six RMC-staffed golf carts will assist visitors and team members with transportation at Fontaine Research Park. The carts are continuously moving throughout the park to pick up passengers. If you need assistance, wave them down.
  • Timelines | These projects extend through 2027. Details.
  • Please review the information and timeline to prepare for major changes.
