Rachel Moon, MD
Professor Rachel Moon, MD, in the Department of Pediatrics, was interviewed for a CNN article about the best baby monitors of 2023. She says using a baby monitor may be “fine and often helpful,” but doesn’t want parents using them as “justification to not practice safe sleep habits.” According to Dr. Moon, the monitors are a lifestyle product that may offer some peace of mind and make it easier for parents to monitor their infant, but emphasizes establishing safe sleep habits as the best way to reduce risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome also known as SIDS.
