Michael Ayers, MD, an assistant professor and sports cardiologist in the Department of Medicine, was quoted in an article in HuffPost about the benefits of adding fast intervals to your walk. He says interval training cuts down on the amount of time you have to exercise to to get the same health benefits. Dr. Ayers also notes that patients like the feeling they have after interval training saying, “There’s a big endorphin kick when you go into vigorous exercise.”
