Laurie Archbald-Panone, MD, an associate professor in the Department of Medicine, wrote an article for The Conversation about the importance of people ages 65 and up getting a COVID booster shot this spring that received widespread national news coverage, including Scientific American. 

Dr. Archbald-Panone discusses how increased age means increased risk, with vaccines being the number one action people can take to protect themselves. She also discusses how repeat infections bring higher risk for developing long COVID.
