On May 11, during a Congressional Briefing organized by UVA Health, Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia and Representative Don Beyer of Virginia’s 8th Congressional District outlined proposed legislation and policies to advance care for patients with Long COVID. Physicians from the UVA Health Long COVID Clinic, Kyle Enfield, MD, MS, FSHEA, FCCM and Ina Stephens, MD, and a patient experiencing Long COVID discussed what those who suffer from Long COVID need from a clinical and personal perspective. In addition to capitol hill staff, the live event was attended by the NY Times, Associated Press, and CNN, among other media outlets. The briefing was moderated by Wendy Horton, PharmD, MBA, CEO, UVA Medical Center.
