John Kim, MD, an assistant professor of medicine and pulmonary and critical care expert at UVA School of Medicine, explains why omega-3 fatty acids are linked to better lung health in The Conversation, an article that received widespread national news coverage.
Dr. Kim says, “…higher dietary intake of omega-3 fatty acids is linked to better lung function and longer survival in patients with pulmonary fibrosis, a chronic respiratory disease.” His team’s research was recently published in the Journal Chest.
