Ifrah Zawar, MD’s Study About Dementia Patients Who Have Seizures Covered in U.S. News and World Report

Ifrah Zawar, MD, an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology, is lead author on a multicenter study about how dementia patients who suffer from seizures decline faster and die younger than people with dementia who don’t have seizures. Her findings from the study were presented at a recent American Epilepsy Society Annual Meeting and are considered preliminary until published in a peer-reviewed journal.

Dr. Zawar’s study has received national news coverage including the U.S. News & World Report.
