Colin Derdeyn, MD, professor and chair of the Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging, was featured across Virginia and on TV stations nationally discussing UVA Health University Medical Center’s expanded MRI suite.
UVA has added a fourth MRI scanner, a dedicated anesthesia support area for patients, and additional space for preparation and recovery. Dr. Derdeyn notes that demand for screenings has been growing for years and says he’s excited to see the project come to fruition.
“It’s been spectacular,” Dr. Derdeyn said. “I think the people that have really appreciated it the most are the people that work there. It’s a better place to work, and people feel better about the quality of care they can deliver as well.“
