Chris Holstege, MD, wrote an article for The Conversation on a dangerous group of synthetic opioids, which was featured in more than 150 news outlets nationally, including the San Francisco Chronicle, Houston Chronicle, and Yahoo.  He explains why nitazenes are so powerful and deadly, what types are showing up on the streets, and the signs of a nitazene overdose.

Dr. Holstege is a professor of medicine and pediatrics a UVA School of Medicine and director of the Blue Ridge Poison Center. He is also chief of the Division of Medical Toxicology and executive director of the Elson Student Center.
