UVA Health University Medical Center.C-Ville Weekly’s cover story on May 28, 2025, highlights the University of Virginia Medical Center as one of Newsweek’s top 50 hospitals in the country (and No. 1 in the state) and the incredible groundbreaking research at UVA that translates to new treatments and cures for patients.

The story features the work of School of Medicine researchers Richard Hall, MD, John Lukens, PhD, Richard Price, MD, Thomas Platts-Mills, MD, Jeffrey Wilson, MD, and Jie Sun, PhD. It also discusses the importance of federal research funding for advancing research initiatives at UVA, like those made possible through the Paul and Diane Manning Institute of Biotechnology, a new biomedical research and manufacturing facility on UVA Grounds.

UVA is leading the way in pioneering treatments for some of the world’s most challenging health conditions, including one of the deadliest forms of cancer and promising new therapies that may one day cure neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s.
