Mushroom edibles are becoming increasingly popular. Over the past year, there has been a surge in mushroom products, especially in vape shops. This booming, unregulated market poses risks for consumers who may not know what they’re getting. “They’re unregulated, and no one knows what they’re putting in them,” said Dr. Michienzi. Individuals could end up consuming a different dosage than what is indicated on the label, or mistakenly believe they are consuming one substance while actually ingesting something entirely different, she said.
