Hi everyone! My name is Heather Humphrey and I am excited to write your Kids Matter newsletter and to be part of your team. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I was born and raised in Madison County, VA. In 2006, I graduated from Monmouth University in New Jersey with a BA in Communication (emphasis in Journalism and Public Relations) and a double minor in English and Information Technology. After college, I moved to Sarasota, Florida for 6 years.
My professional background includes over seven years of public relations and marketing experience with companies such as the Southern Environmental Law Center, Ashlawn Opera Festival, Gold’s Gym, Manatee Technical Institute, and the PGA Tour. My skill set includes media relations, print layout and advertisement design, website development, brand management, technical writing, social media campaign promotion, and event planning. I am also working for University Human Resources as the Center for Leadership Excellence Communications Coordinator. I am committed to continuing my career at UVA and settling in Charlottesville.
On a personal note, I love trying new foods, the color pink, and the New York Giants.
