Siobhan Statuta, MD, a Harrison Distinguished Teaching Associate Professor of Family Medicine, has been designated one of the team physicians for the U-20 U.S. Women’s Soccer Team at the 2024 Women’s World Cup that will be held Aug. 31-Sept. 22, 2024, in Bogota, Columbia. Dr. Statuta’s clinical expertise and commitment to the sport has been highly valued by the U.S. Soccer Federation. It is a distinguished honor and a personal and professional achievement for a physician to be considered for World Cup selection.
Dr. Statuta is the director of the UVA Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship and provides care to UVA athletes and community athletes at the UVA Runner’s Clinic.
