John Mugler, PhD, Won the ISMRM Gold Medal

John Mugler, PhDJohn P. Mugler, III, PhD, Professor of Radiology and Medical Imaging, with a second appointment in Biomedical Engineering, was awarded the Gold Medal from the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine. The society recognized him at their recent annual meeting “For seminal contributions to the development of multiple rapid MR imaging techniques, in particular for the Magnetization-Prepared with RApid Gradient Echo (MP-RAGE) imaging method which has become routinely used in multiple clinical and research studies worldwide.” The ISMRM has over 9,000 members and is the premier society for MRI research. In the 50 years of the society’s history, only 80 medals have been awarded.
