Zawar, MD, an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology, was awarded a 2022 Grass Foundation Young Investigator Award from the American Epilepsy Society (AES). This award recognizes and honors 8 outstanding young investigators conducting research in basic or clinical neuroscience related to epilepsy. Her abstract entitled “Seizures in Dementia are associated with Worse Clinical Outcomes, Higher Mortality Rates and Shorter Lifespans” was selected from over 1,300 submissions for this honor.
