The inaugural International Neonatal Nephrology Symposium (INNS) was held in Birmingham AL, September 12-15, hosted by Children’s of Alabama and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The event was a tremendous success, drawing significant participation and generating great enthusiasm among attendees.
Jennifer Charlton, MD, associate professor and pediatric nephrologist, served on the Scientific Committee for INNS and the Steering Committee for the Research Incubator for Neonatal Kidney disease (RINK).
The educational content of this conference covered practical aspects of Neonatal Kidney care such as renal replacement therapy options, acute kidney injury management, and the follow up of these high-risk babies. In addition, this meeting supported the infrastructure built by the Neonatal Kidney Collaborative to conduct high-quality, cutting-edge research through the RINK.
