The Office of Faculty Affairs and Faculty Development is pleased to continue its exciting new quarterly series to highlight new School of Medicine faculty hires. This second article includes new clinical and research faculty hired in September, October, and November of 2024.

Xiaowei, Hu, PhD | Research Assistant Professor | Genome Sciences | Dr. Xiaowei Hu's research focuses on the development and application of statistical methods for 'omics prediction and 'omics risk score prediction of complex human diseases and traits. Erica Giraldi, MD | Assistant Professor | Medicine | Dr. Erica Giraldi's primary clinical and research interest is pituitary neuroendocrinology, with a focus on functional pituitary tumors, including acromegaly and Cushing's disease. From a research standpoint she is interested in evaluating gender differences in Cushing's disease, possible interventions to aid in early diagnosis of acromegaly, and in assessing the impact of long-term hormone alterations on comorbidities in pituitary patients. | |
