Sana Syed, MD
Sana Syed, MD, MSCR, MSDS, an associate professor in the School of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics, was recently featured as the keynote speaker for precision medicine at the 2023 Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation Researcher Symposium in New York City. As an expert physician and researcher in pediatric gastroenterology, Dr. Syed highlighted pressing challenges and innovative new research that may lead to advances in individualized care for patients with Crohn’s disease and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Dr. Syed also co-chairs the foundation’s 2024 Challenges in IBD Precision Medicine focus group, which is currently outlining the research gaps that need to be addressed to advance the mission of finding cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improving the lives of patients who live with these diseases.
