Mitchell Rosner, MD, chair of the Department of Medicine, has been appointed as the associate global director for the Americas at the Royal College of Physicians (RCP). Dr. Rosner is a fellow of the RCP and has been appointed on a 4-year term, where he will help guide RCP activity in the Americas. He will help drive forward and support RCP Global initiatives including supporting international medical graduates (IMGs), building links with local physicians and institutions, participating in clinical training projects, and acting as an RCP ambassador. One goal is to link the resources of the RCP with medical organizations throughout the Americas to improve education and the quality of patient care.

The RCP is a British professional membership body and charity, dedicated to improving the practice of medicine, chiefly through the accreditation of physicians by examination. Founded by royal charter from King Henry VIII in 1518 as the College of Physicians, the RCP is the oldest medical college in England. The RCP drives improvements in health and healthcare through advocacy, education and research. Its 40,000 members work in hospitals and communities located in over 120 countries worldwide.
