Mary Faith Marshall, PhD, the Emily Davie and Joseph S. Kornfeld Professor of Biomedical Ethics and director of the Center for Health Humanities and Ethics, has been selected as a recipient of the Presidential Citation for her outstanding contributions to the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Marshall served as co-chair of the End-of-Life Guidelines Panel and as past chair of the SCCM Ethics Committee. The EOL Guidelines panel is involved in a three-year process of developing new guidelines for managing terminally ill patients and supporting family members and multidisciplinary critical care clinicians as they navigate care at the end of life.
