J. Kim Penberthy, PhD, the immediate past president of American Psychological Association’s Society of Clinical Psychology, and Joanna Yost, PhD, representative from the Association of Psychologists in Academic Health Centers, were key contributors to the inception of the inaugural Society of Clinical Psychology Conference.

The conference was held February 1-3, 2024 at the Emory Conference Center in Atlanta and focused on “The Future of Clinical Psychological Science.” It offered an insightful platform for participants to explore continuing education offerings, including the latest updates on treatments for anxiety and trauma. The event also fostered rich discussions on the evolving landscape of clinical psychology, drawing professionals from across the field to engage in meaningful dialogue about its future direction.

Through a blend of expert presentations and interactive sessions, attendees were provided with valuable opportunities to expand their knowledge and skills, highlighting the conference’s role in shaping the trajectory of clinical psychology.
