Irène Mathieu, MD, an assistant professor of pediatrics and iTHRIV Scholar, was recently appointed to the American Academy of Pediatrics’ national Committee on Psychosocial Aspects of Child and Family Health. The committee, which focuses on the psychological, developmental, and family issues children face, provides expert guidance to pediatricians and families through policy statements published in the journal Pediatrics and the media. Dr. Mathieu is also an attending physician in the Birdsong primary care clinic, principal investigator of the WAYS Lab and an assistant director of programs in Health Humanities at the School of Medicine’s Center for Health Humanities & Ethics.
