Bobby Chhabra, MD, the Lillian T. Pratt Distinguished Professor and chair of the School of Medicine Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and David A. Harrison Distinguished Educator, was awarded the American Society for Surgery of the Hand 2022 David P. Green Mentorship Award.

This award was created in honor of David P. Green, MD who is described as a “selfless mentor and internationally renowned educator and hand surgeon.” The American Foundation for Surgery of the Hands states, “In creating this award, we hope to accomplish two important goals: to honor a person who has given so much to hand surgery, worked hard to spread knowledge and invested in countless others, and in so doing, to honor and encourage others who have committed their careers to doing the same.”

Dr. Chhabra has committed his career at UVA to education. He has received the University of Virginia School of Medicine Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, the University of Virginia Master Educator Award, and the David A. Harrison Distinguished Educator Award, the highest teaching honor at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He recently received the University of Virginia School of Medicine Master Clinician Award.
