When a patient is involuntarily discharged from a clinic because of their behavior, how does it affect the care team? Join us to hear from an interprofessional panel about their experience with a patient who exhibited threatening and racist behaviors toward the staff, which lead to dismissal from the clinic.

Panel members: Rasheed Balogun, MD; Kim Deaver, MSN, RN, Bruce Gehle, JD, Bizz Glover, M.ED, SLP, and Yvonne Jarvis, MSN, RN

The goal of Schwartz Center Rounds is to provide a space for healthcare workers to share how they are affected by their work, as well as to foster and support empathy, collaboration, and compassion for self and others.

Accredited continuing education provided by the University of Virginia School of Medicine and School of Nursing. Lunch will be provided for the first 50 people to arrive. Register here or through event link above.

Sponsored by the Wisdom & Wellbeing Program; Co-Sponsored by the Compassionate Care Initiative and Faculty and Employee Assistance Program (FEAP); Supported by Chaplaincy Services and Quality & Performance Improvement.
