Description/Learning Objectives: By the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to describe weight bias & stigma. Attendees will be able to define weight bias, weight stigma, and their impact on patient outcomes and patient care. They will be able to recognize weight bias. Attendees will gain knowledge about explicit and implicit weight bias, identify personal biases, and reflect on the potential impact of biases. Finally, they will be able to list effective communication strategies. Attendees will practice evidence-based strategies for having conversations with patients about weight, emphasizing delivering compassionate, culturally sensitive care. (1 CME credit)
