The Graduate Biosciences Society Spring Symposium will be taking place on Wednesday April 9, 2025. The event will feature a poster session for current graduate students to share their research, outstanding student talks, and a keynote speaker presentation by Dr. Caroline Bartman from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine.
Dr. Bartman is a leader in the field of cancer and immunology research, with a focus on using isotope tracing and metabolomics to uncover altered metabolic fluxes in tumors and immune cells. Through her innovative work, Dr. Bartman aims to manipulate metabolic pathways to halt cancer growth and reduce inflammation. Her talk, titled “Measuring Tumor Metabolism In Vivo,” will explore how identifying and targeting specific metabolic pathways can lead to new therapeutic strategies for cancer and inflammatory diseases.
