Event LinkDescription/Learning Objective: By the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to define Motivational Interviewing (MI); attendees will discuss the theory behind MI and its empirical support, and understand the “spirit” of MI. They will apply MI to Clinical Practice and will discuss the application of MI principles and skills to clinical practice. Finally, they will practice MI techniques. Attendees will gain practical knowledge of MI techniques, including the fundamental active listening skills, eliciting change talk, and navigating ambivalence and resistance. (1CME credit)
