There will be a panel discussion about Black maternal mortality from a policy perspective on Thursday, April 25, from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm in the Claude Moore Medical Education Building, room 3110. Panelists will include health care leaders, practitioners, and public policy experts.

This event is co-hosted by the Theta Kappa Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and the UVA School of Medicine’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

This is a follow-up event to the screening of Birthing Justice, a documentary film examining the structures and systems that determine the mortality of Black women and their babies, which was hosted in February. If you have not seen Birthing Justice and plan to attend this panel discussion, it is recommended that you view the documentary beforehand. It is available via the UVA Library.

Please register online to attend no later than April 22.
