BIMS Advancement to Candidacy Celebration

On Thursday, November 7, the Biomedical Sciences (BIMS) program will proudly host its 3rd annual Advancement to Candidacy Celebration. This event honors third-year BIMS students who have successfully passed their qualifying exams in the spring and are now embarking on their journey toward earning their PhDs.

This year, 53 students from 9 different BIMS programs will be recognized. Each student will be introduced by their respective Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) and will receive a certificate of advancement and a challenge coin from their mentor.

The Advancement to Candidacy Celebration marks the final milestone for the 2022 BIMS student cohort as a group. From this point forward, each student will continue on their individual path toward their PhD. BIMS takes great pride in commemorating this significant achievement with a ceremony, reception, and celebration.

The event is open to faculty, students, and friends. Those unable to attend in person are invited to join via Zoom.
