Description/Learning Objectives: Since its establishment in 2006, Twitter has become a home for scientific and medical networking, discussion, and debate. Now, with the platform’s existence in doubt, many users are looking for alternatives. Join Kimberley for an overview and discussion of other social media channels, including Diaspora, Mastodon, CounterSocial, and Tribel. Kimberley will include an overview of each platform including its history, who owns it, how it works, what its rules are, pros and cons, as well as early data on which groups are gravitating to which platform.
