W. Gerald Teague, MD, Ivy Foundation Professor of Pediatrics and Associate Director of the Child Health Research Center, will present novel data collected at UVA involving race-conscious research, what it means as opposed to comparative race research, and the interactions of social disparities, urban residence, and family income on inflammatory markers in children with asthma. The results are highly informative and show how important it is to not simply compare outcomes according to race, but to look at both social factors and race in comparative research.

For questions about this seminar, please contact Carol Brown at the Child Health Research Center.

Light lunch will be provided.
