The UVA School of Medicine Class of 2025 was excited to learn where they matched for residency programs across the country on Match Day, March 21. The annual, nationwide event celebrates an incredible milestone in their medical career journey, when formal medical education ends and their dreams of being a doctor are realized.
After four years of intensive classes, rigorous clinical experiences, and the long residency application season, our medical students gathered with friends and family at Old Cabell Hall to celebrate the momentous occasion of Match Day. The students simultaneously opened their envelopes at 12 p.m. to discover where they would spend the next 3-7 years of their lives caring for patients and advancing innovative treatments in their chosen specialty.
