Fourth-year medical students, Erica Mark and Sarah Swinehart, recently launched the student-run UVA Medical Student Review journal. The journal was created to encourage diverse scholarship among UVA students for the advancement of health, equity, and discovery. It is a platform for students to share not only their research, but also their opinions and unique experiences in healthcare. The inaugural issue includes student research, review articles, and narrative pieces submitted by students in medicine, nursing, and public health.
As co-founders and chief editors, Erica and Sarah have worked diligently alongside many student volunteers who served as writers, editors, and art directors to make this first issue engaging and inspiring. Students who would like to contribute to future issues may reach out to the executive board.
