2024 Academy for Excellence in Education Class.

The Academy for Excellence in Education (AEE) was founded to build an inclusive learning community of educators and to foster and honor educational excellence across the UVA School of Medicine. Faculty and trainees who are committed to these goals are invited to be part of this society.

The 2024 inductees were honored at a ceremony on May 9. This year’s inductees include nine faculty and three trainee members from departments across the School of Medicine. Neeral Shah, MD, director of the Academy for Excellence in Education, gave a brief history of the AEE and emphasized the role of service to both new and current members.

All AEE members have the opportunity to join one of five committees through the Center for Excellence in Education. Dr. Shah also celebrated the diverse representation across departments within the School of Medicine in the 2024 class. “We are excited to welcome these 2024 inductees into the Academy for Excellence in Education. Through our Academy and Center, we strive to continue building our community of educators through the service and expertise of our members,” said Dr. Shah.
