The UVA Medical Alumni Association hosted a networking reception for Black students, faculty, and housestaff on Monday, October 23, 2023. Over 40 people attended the event, including student members of the Student National Medical Association. Tracy Downs, MD, Senior Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the School of Medicine and Chief Diversity & Community Engagement Officer for UVA Health, was joined by many members of the faculty and housestaff from seven clinical departments and divisions. This networking reception is held in the fall each year and open to faculty and students of the MD, BIMS and MPH programs, as well as current housestaff.
