UVA Children’s was again ranked by U.S. News & World Report as Virginia’s #1 Children’s Hospital. Six programs — pediatric cardiology and heart surgery, neonatology, gastroenterology and GI surgery, pulmonology and lung surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, and diabetes and endocrinology — are ranked among the best in the nation.
USN&WR gathers clinical data through a detailed survey, measuring patient safety, infection prevention and adequacy of nurse staffing. Part of each hospital’s score is derived from surveys of more than 15,000 pediatric specialists who are asked where they would send the sickest children in their specialty.
Since 2018, UVA Children’s has had the most ranked specialties of any children’s hospital in Virginia. Read the media release.
