The Department of Surgery’s Cardiothoracic Division earned a 3-star rating from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) for Lung Cancer Lobectomy. This is the highest rating given, placing UVA among the top 5% of providers in the U.S. The STS star rating measures quality in health care using a variety of patient outcome metrics over a period of three years. This data is drawn from the General Thoracic Surgery Database, the largest clinical thoracic surgical database in the U.S. and Canada. This is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to the outstanding care provided by our Cardiothoracic team. Congratulations!
