The redesign of the Clinical Compensation Plan is incredibly important, and the team is fully committed to ensuring this is done correctly and with the utmost of care. The goal remains to invest in each faculty member through a fair, transparent, and competitive Clinical Compensation Plan that is designed to reward performance, support the outstanding work faculty does to advance our missions, and help us attract and retain top clinical talent. As previously shared, the redesign process is structured into four phases.
We are currently in Phase 3, which focuses on analysis and modeling. During this phase, feedback will be shared with each department, and revisions to the departmental Clinical Compensation Plans will be made. This work is expected to continue through the end of FY25 (June 30, 2025).
Looking ahead, it is anticipated that Phase 4 will commence in FY26 (July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026). This phase will include a shadow period, during which individual faculty members’ total cash compensation under the redesigned plan will be modeled and compared with compensation under each department’s current plan. Departmental leadership will engage with faculty to discuss the implications of the new plan on individual compensation. This deliberate approach ensures that the redesigned plan is thoughtfully developed and recognizes the unique contributions of the faculty member’s work.
The redesigned Clinical Compensation Plan is expected to be implemented in FY27 (July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027), provided the data gathered during Phase 4 effectively rewards efforts across all mission areas. Until implementation, the current annual merit increase process will remain in place.
