Physicians can take time in the middle of clinic to catch their breath, and complete chart documentation or other non-patient facing work. The introduction of the asynchronous time slot makes this possible.
To begin with, the roll-out of the asynchronous slot will be with with the primary care physicians. Once implemented, an assessment will occur on how it is working and further rollouts will continue with E/M physicians as the next group.
