MyChart Pop-Up Messages Help Educate Patients on Best Practices for Communicating with Providers

January 4, 2024 by jta6n@virginia.edu

MyChart LogoA new, point-of-interaction, pop-up message went live in MyChart on December 12, to help educate patients on best practices for using MyChart messaging. When a user clicks to open a new “ask a medical question” message, a pop-up box appears with messaging tips that include links to self-service functions, when it’s best to call the clinic, and when to send a message.

This new pop-up is part of a multidisciplinary effort to help patients get the most out of MyChart functionality while also helping to manage the volume of messages that providers receive. Similar information will be posted to uvahealth.com and sent to patients via MyChart message in January.
