Max Luna, MD, an associate professor and cardiologist in the Department of Medicine and director of UVA’s Latino Health Initiative, was interviewed by the American Heart Association for an article about addressing the Latino community’s fears and hesitation in performing life-saving CPR when faced with an emergency. The article was covered by more than 100 news outlets nationwide.

Dr. Luna discusses how the Latino Health Initiative provides CPR classes in Spanish, which demystifies the process and helps address fears and concerns preventing the Latino community from administering the technique.
