The University of Virginia’s Staff Senate is holding elections this June, and the School of Medicine has two open seats. Serving on the Staff Senate is a valuable opportunity for staff members who want to make a meaningful impact, not just within our School, but across the entire University community.
Serving on the Staff Senate allows opportunities for staff to be a voice for their colleagues, representing their perspectives in conversations with senior leadership, and helping to shape programs and policies that affect more than 7,000 staff members across UVA.
If you’re interested in running for one of the School of Medicine’s open seats, please contact the SOM Election Manager Gabrielle Laskey to express your interest. A brief nomination statement will be requested later, with a deadline of Wednesday, June 4.
You’re also welcome to nominate a coworker or direct report who you believe would be a strong and thoughtful representative for the School of Medicine.
Staff Senate elections will run Monday, June 16 through Monday, June 23, 2025.
