Daria Skwarzynska, a PhD student in the Department of Neuroscience, has been awarded a Young Investigator Award from the American Epilepsy Society (AES). This award recognizes 20 young investigators conducting basic, translational, or clinical epilepsy research. The abstract entitled “Lactate Inhibits Seizures via Lactate Receptor, HCA1R” (1281914) was selected from over 1,300 submissions for this honor.
