The UVA Medical Alumni Association hosted Medical School Reunion Weekend, April 28 – 30. The event was attended by over 300 MD alumni and their guests.
This year’s reunion celebrated milestones for the Classes of 1963, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998 and 2003. The 5-, 10- and 15-year milestone celebrations for the Classes of 2018, 2013 and 2008 will be held in the fall, on September 22-23.
Alumni and guests enjoyed thirty-six events over the course of the weekend, including a tour of the Memorial to Enslaved Laborers, mixers with current medical students, receptions and meals with classmates, outings to local vineyards and hiking trails, and yoga with V-Med Strength. A highlight of the weekend was the breakfast and morning programming on Saturday, during which participants had the opportunity to hear an update from student representatives of the Mulholland Society, remarks from a student scholarship recipient, and a State of the School Address from Dean Melina Kibbe, MD. Recipients of four of the UVA Medical Alumni Association’s awards were also recognized, including:
