Mitchell Rosner, MD, Professor and Interim Executive Vice President for Health Affairs, was featured across Virginia and on TV stations nationally discussing a donation from UVA President Jim Ryan to support Alzheimer’s research.
President Ryan recently presented nearly $80,000, raised before running the Boston Marathon, to a group of medical professionals. The funds, donated by over 12,000 people, mark a milestone UVA Health hopes will advance Alzheimer’s research.
“What it will enable is really students to support research projects that will be groundbreaking,” said Dr. Rosner. “Often, these are projects that can’t be supported in other ways — smaller research efforts that can be really innovative and help patients in ways that we often don’t have grant funding for.”
